The main goal of the European Symposium on Vascular Biomaterials is to meet at the same time worldwide and renowned scientific researchers and physicians involved in research and usage of vascular biomaterials in the Vascular and Endovascular field. We want to promote knowledge, further develop the multidisciplinary approach - that we believe is essential - and create an interactive platform that should allow us to have productive exchanges and have durable future collaboration.
Since its creation in Alsace in 2001, the ESVB is fostering an
exclusive approach in vascular surgery. Symposium
unique in the world by its focus and its ability to gather physicians, surgeons, textile engineers, mechanical engineers, scientists, industrials around one goal: improving patient care and safety through
a multidisciplinary approach on the development of new tools, devices and technologies in vascular surgery, the ESVB explored many topics of the 18 years of its existence:
-
Fundamental research on biomaterials: vascular & endovascular prosthesis
-
Influence of surface treatment of vascular prosthesis (ePTFE, impregnated prosthesis)
-
Fundamental research and discovery about stents
-
Connecting biomaterials to arterial structures with specialists of anastomosis, laparoscopy & robotic anastomosis.
-
Treatment in aortic arch pathologies, the peripheral recanalization and the peripheral drug eluting technologies
-
Superficial Femoral Artery (SFA), the State of the Art vs EndoVascular Approaches to the Ascending Aorta / Aortic Arch and the intraluminal navigation.
In addition to the recurring
expert updates on latest endovascular technologies, the past edition, the ESVB delved into the durability of vascular and endovascular devices, the latest trends in per-operative imaging technologies as well as the tissue, plaque and vessel wall properties and endovascular technologies.
For its special 10+1 edition,
the ESVB is re-invents itself in 2019 and appear under a new form. Looking towards the current challenges in vascular surgery and to the future, this edition will explore:
-
Robotics, non X-ray guidance and latest trends in per-operative imaging technologies
-
Updates in per-operative imaging technologies
-
Updates in endovascular surgery: aortic and peripheral
-
Venous diseases
-
3D printing technologies in vascular surgery
It will as well introduce:
-
International research network in vascular surgery
-
The near future
In addition to the traditional
Vascular Surgery Simulation Boot Camp, the ESVB 2019 is characterized by a
Translational Research Meeting, a
Nurses in Vascular Surgery Meeting and a space dedicated to innovation, startups and technical companies: the
Innovation Hallway.
With this new layout
fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing and innovation, this 10+1 edition of the ESVB will be a
great opportunity for all the key players in the field to meet, network, share ideas and build the future of vascular surgery.
